‘Dungeon Keeper 2’ was a bit revolutionary when it came with its black humor and excellent gameplay. The year was 1999, and the game was developed by Bullfrog Productions (also known for a load of other games included ‘Syndicate’) and published by Electronic Arts (EA) for Microsoft.
I must confess I never played the first version of this game, but the the second one had me glued to the screen for many hours in those days. This is basically a weird-version of a RTS game where you play a ‘Dungeon keeper’ with a lot of minions (and other creatures) to do your dirty work 🙂
Wikipedia gives this description:
players take the role of a ‘dungeon keeper’, building and defending an underground dungeon from the would-be heroes that invade it, as well as from other keepers. In the game’s campaign mode, the player is charged with recovering the portal gems from each area in order to open a portal to the surface.
This is a fun little game, and it even got a multiplayer (not tested that one though), and you can easily find it in a retail store or in an online shop for a few bucks. I’ve enjoyed my stay in this dungeon and if ya like a bit of retro gaming, some wacky humor and the ability to actually whip your minions when they dont do what ya want, this is a game you should check out 🙂
